Menhir

WIP - Expect bugs and issues, this is simply a prototype for submissions and playtesting.

Menhir is a minimalist action roleplaying game set in a dark fantasy bronze age Britain, taking inspiration from classic games like Daggerfall and Ultima: Underworld as well as OSR tabletop RPGs

In Menhir you aren't a hero. You are just someone travelling across the islands of Staen on a mystical journey, meeting drug fueled wizards and friendly cannibals as you dungeon delve and explore the windy hilltops

• Customize your character in true RPG fashion, choosing from a range of backgrounds, abilities and skills in a classless system
• Create a variety of builds that can approach problems in unique ways, with combat not always being the only or best solution
• Real time roll based combat system that requires strategic use of items and skills to win
• Cast spells, create potions and barter metal rings for weapons and armour
• Journey across the world through a series of large, interconnected and open levels. Find your own paths and discover hillforts and barrows

Demo

This current demo version of Menhir is a short vertical slice that has all the core mechanics and a small area with a variety of quests and characters for the player to interact with. The story and setting presented in the game is different to that planned for the final project but should still give an idea of what to expect. Any feedback or ideas would be appreciated and expect a more complete and final demo to come out later this year
